Paper: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

To kick off our Corporate Social Responsibility Program, WPCG started with an environmental issue which all offices can help to solve: forest conservation. We've done our part to help our forests by cutting down on company paper use as much as possible. WPCG employees worked together to analyze our office's paper use and find areas where we could reduce, reuse, and recycle. We also visited a paper recycling facility to learn just exactly how paper gets recovered. Did you know, for example, that even the ink on an old newspaper can be recycled into fertilizer? As a result of our research, WPCG:
  • Stopped unnecessary printing by using computers to read documents and make notes
  • Reuses the back of old documents to print internal documents when printing is unavoidable
  • Only purchases recycled paper
  • Placed recycling bins for newsprint, paper and cardboard in each of our offices

Flick Off! at WPCG

We've evaluated our internal use of paper and garbage, so it is only natural that WPCG has also targeted our power consumption. We have automated power saving settings on all of our computers and joined the "Flick Off" movement. The movement provided us with plenty of stickers, which we have strategically placed to remind staff to "Flick Off" unused coffee pots, light switches, and computers.
