What is an RSS web feed?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a way to check for and read website updates without having to visit the site in a web browser, and may also be used to syndicate material from one website to another.

RSS - in addition to other feed formats known by such names as RDF and Atom—uses XML (Extensible Markup Language), a standard way of transferring information on the web in plain text format, to re-publish news and updates in a web feed (also known as an RSS feed or newsfeed).

How do I Subscribe?

Option 1 - To subscribe, simply drag one or more of the orange web feed links (or copy and paste its URL) into a feed reader program or news aggregator, such as FeedDemon for Windows, NewsGator (which integrates with Outlook), NetNewsWire for Mac, or a web-based reader such as Bloglines.

Option 2 -You may also subscribe in RSS-enabled web browsers, such as Safari RSS (where you can simply click on the XML button) or Firefox (using the orange "live bookmarks" appearing at the right side of the Location Bar (or at the bottom-right of the browser window if you are using 1.0.x.). Microsoft's upcoming Windows Vista operating system will provide widespread web feed integration when it is early 2007.
